Welcome to my Portfolio
Hello There!
Thanks for taking a minute to check out what I’ve got to show. It ain’t much, but it’s honest work. Here, you’ll find all of my advertising experience to-date.
Art direction is something that I’m wildly excited about. That feeling when you get an idea that teeters on the threshold of “amazing” and “ridiculous” is absolutely infatuating. Digging simplicity out of a pile of complicated rubble to discover something that is both new and familiar; that’s what I love about advertising.
It wasn’t until a few years ago however that I discovered this passion. Prior to this, I owned and operated my own photo/video company. Photo/Video (or as I affectionately call it: “Photeo”) has been my main side hustle for the better part of the last six years.
In addition to putting me through college and teaching me countless lessons about working with professionals and managing myself, it has been a keyhole into a world of creativity that, for the longest time, I felt that I didn’t have the key necessary to traverse further into. It always felt like I was merely building up someone else’s ideas (especially with corporate videography - oof) instead of creatively problem solving things my way.
My discovery of the world of advertising completely unlocked that keyhole I mentioned earlier. Soon I found myself at the forefront of solving companies’ problems through conceiving grand ideas that were exceptionally strategic, simple, and original.
In working with a shortbread cookie company who wanted to expand into more traditional American markets yet still wanting to maintain its Scottish roots, I came up with “The Scott-ish Campaign, in which the brand emphasized that their cookies weren’t just for the Super Scottish (think Mel Gibson in Braveheart), but also for the Scott-ish folk.
In working with Bang and Olufsen, an exceptionally beautiful yet irrelevant speaker producer who needed a brand revival, I created the “Silence that Speaks Volumes” campaign, acknowledging that B&O was the ONLY speaker that, even while turned off, still spoke volumes due to it’s sculpture-like design and beauty.
These are a few of my favorite projects, but if you are mildly intrigued and want to see more, then feel free to browse. Thanks for sticking with me.
